Iowa Fuel Report: Sept. 10, 2025

Iowans saw a noticeable uptick in fuel prices in this week’s report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, Sept. 10, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in the state was $2.94, up 10 cents from last week but still 13 cents below prices from a year ago. The national average on Wednesday was $3.19 per gallon, even with last week. As for diesel, Iowa’s average price per gallon rose three cents to $3.54, compared to $3.40 per gallon last year. Local prices remained 17 cents lower than the $3.71 national average on Wednesday. At the Des Moines Terminal for renewables, E10 was $2.05, Unleaded 87 was $2.33, ULSD#2 was $2.43, ULSD#1 was $2.76, and E70 was $2.10. In heating fuels, natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site were down three cents to $3.04 per MMBtu.
