Law enforcement has released additional details related to an officer-involved shooting Saturday evening in Greene County. According to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), Greene County Sheriff’s Office deputies, at 10:49 p.m., began assisting the Boone Police Department and Boone County Sheriff’s Office with an ongoing pursuit that began in Boone County and traveled into Greene County via U.S. Highway 30. The vehicle, driven by 18-year-old Camryn Stonehocker of Boone, came to a stop on T Avenue, about a mile west of Grand Junction. Authorities say Stonehocker exited the vehicle with a weapon and advanced on law enforcement. One of the officers discharged his service weapon at Stonehocker, and he died at the scene. No officers were injured in the exchange, and they have been placed on leave in accordance with department policy. The DCI is overseeing the investigation into the officer-involved shooting, and its findings will be forwarded to the Greene County Attorney’s Office and the Office of the Iowa Attorney General for review once it is completed. Officials say no other information will be released at this time.
