The Carroll County Board of Supervisors will consider accepting additional opioid settlement funds for the county at their meeting on Monday. The supervisors convene at 9:00 a.m. at the Carroll County Courthouse, and their first item of business is a resolution authorizing the receipt of those settlement dollars. Currently, the county has over $300,000 following the nationwide settlements from pharmaceutical companies, including distributors and manufacturers, for the role they played in the national opioid crisis. The Carroll County Opioid Committee is still seeking proposals from local organizations that provide opioid-related education, prevention, and treatment. The board will also consider a 28E agreement with Audubon County to establish a relationship for IT services between the two. The only other items on the Monday, Sept. 8, agenda are payables, plats, manure management annual updates, and committee reports. The meeting is open to the public and will be live-streamed via the county’s YouTube channel. Links to the agenda and video are included below.
