Several Teens Injured And A Totaled SUV Reported In A Rollover Accident In Guthrie County Monday Evening

An SUV is deemed a total loss and several teens injured after a roll-over accident Monday evening in Guthrie County. According to the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred on Monday, Sept. 1 around 5:10 p.m. on Locust Avenue, a Level B road west of Guthrie Center. The 2003 Chevy Tahoe, operated by a 16-year-old from Guthrie Center was traveling south when they lost control, and over-corrected while attempting to gain control, striking a tree stump before overturning and rolling into the east ditch. The driver and three other 16-year-old passengers were wearing seatbelts and reported no or minor injuries and did not need to be transported. Two of the 16-year-old passengers who were not wearing seatbelts were transported by EMS to the Guthrie County Hospital for treatment. The driver has been cited for reckless driving and the Tahoe received an estimated $10,000 in damages.
