The Lake City City Council has approved of the hiring of Mikayla Dorman as the new City Administrator/Clerk. Dorman, a native from the area, was selected out of four finalist that were interviewed on Aug. 19. She has an accounting degree, along with other qualifications that made her selected as the ideal candidate for the position. Dorman will begin serving in the administrative role on Sept. 24, replacing Interim Janon Douglas and Lee Vogt who worked together to cover the position after the resignation of Jacob Matthews in March.
