Authorities in Guthrie County have released additional details surrounding a single-vehicle crash last week that killed a motorcyclist. According to the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred at approximately 7:05 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, on 310th Street near Diamondhead Lake. The rider, identified as 59-year-old Brian Patrick Brady of Linden, was traveling eastbound on a 2005 Harley-Davidson FLHT Classic when he left the roadway, entered the north ditch, and was ejected from the motorcycle. A witness to the accident told law enforcement Brady had crossed into the westbound lane and narrowly avoided colliding with an oncoming truck before losing control. Brady was transported by Stuart Emergency Medical Services to Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines with severe head trauma, but he died the following day.
