The Wall Lake City Council held a discussion during the last city council meeting about potentially utilizing the old softball field as a dog park for community members. Council member Steve Nuetzman brought the idea during the Aug. 11 meeting, as the field west of the high school softball diamond is not being used on a regular basis. The area has fencing in place and Nuetzman says the dugouts could remain as is to be seating for visitors. Questions were address as to who would be responsible for maintaining and mowing the premises. Council agreed that the group that is proposing and attempting to organize the park would be the responsible party for that. Nothing was approved during the meeting, but the idea will be discussed at future meetings.
