Schaller Man Sentenced To 15 Years In Prison For Probation Violation For Growing Marijuana In Basement

A Schaller man has been sentenced to 15-years in prison after having his probation revoke when authorities discovered marijuana plants in his basement. According to Sac County District Court records, 43-year-old Keegan Abraham Cross entered a plea agreement with prosecutors in Aug. 2024 for controlled substance violation, his third felony drug offense since 2017. He received a suspended 15-year sentence and was ordered to serve two-years probation. During a criminal mischief investigation and suspected drug offenses after discovering 15 grams of marijuana on Cross, the Sac County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at Cross’ home is Schaller on July 15 of this year, discovering over 40 marijuana plants in his basement, along with other drug paraphernalia. He was taken into custody, facing his fourth felony drug charge, controlled substance violation (marijuana), a class D felony. On Aug. 11, Cross pleaded guilty to the probation violations, having all additional charges dismissed, and on Wednesday the original sentence of 15-years was imposed, with credit for time served.
