Get fired up for the annual Cy-Hawk rivalry game as WHO RVTV makes its way to Ames with two planned stops in the listening area next week. The weeklong tailgate of celebrations begins on Monday with a stop in Earlham before making its way to Coon Rapids on Tuesday. Main Street Coon Rapids Executive Director Katie Mason says she underestimated how popular the RVTV tailgate events were until Coon Rapids was selected for the first time to be a host site.

Mason says Coon Rapids got selected out of an application process and she says everyone is excited to welcome the WHO crew to town Tuesday afternoon.

Events will happen in downtown Coon Rapids from 3:30 p.m. up until 10:30 p.m., with the New Way Ford Auto Show, kids games and activities, live music, and much more. After Coon Rapids, WHO RVTV heads north to Calhoun County to Lohrville. Organizing board member, Mike Moran says lots of planning has been underway over the last few months in preparation for this tailgate party.
