The Stewart Memorial Auxiliary recently presented a $20,000 donation to Stewart Memorial Hospital and Clinics to benefit the healthcare provider’s obstetrics department. The contribution, announced Monday, was raised through proceeds from the Auxiliary’s annual Swinging for Patients Golf Outing, which was held on July 26 at the Lake City Country Club. Hospital officials say the funds will be used to enhance patient care and update resources and services for mothers and newborns. The gift also brings the Auxiliary closer to its latest fundraising goal of $47,955.71. The Stewart Memorial Auxiliary has a long tradition of supporting the hospital and its clinics through volunteer service and financial contributions, and has donated over $1 million to Stewart Memorial over the last six decades. A photo of the donation is included with this story on our website.
