The Iowa Department of Public Safety (DPS) has launched a redesigned sex offender registry website, designed to enhance functionality and provide residents with easier access to critical public safety information. The site features new user-friendly changes, including homepage links to active and most-wanted registrants, improved search options with helpful tips, interactive maps that display registrant numbers by area, personalized notifications, and links to crime prevention and safety resources. Hunter Bellon, the special agent in charge of the registry, says, “Our goal with this redesign is to provide Iowans with an updated, intuitive, and accessible platform to access vital information. We are committed to transparency and safety, and this new website will help ensure that critical information about sex offender registrants remains readily available to the public.” The website is available now at www.iowasexoffender.gov.
