The Sac County’s Sheriff’s Office has scheduled more dates for an Open House Jail Tour to show residents firsthand why a new facility is being proposed. During the tour, attendees will have a chance to explore the facility, learn about intakes, and release procedures of inmates, safety protocols, the daily operations and get questions answered from deputies and jail staff. The next scheduled tour will be on Tuesday, Aug. 26 at 6 p.m., with five more dates throughout September and ending in October. A $12.5 million bond to build a new facility is on the ballot for this upcoming November election, after a $10 million bond was just shy of passing with super-majority vote of 60 percent by 1.21 percent. Any questions or additional information can be directed to Sac County Sheriff Jonathon Meyer or Chief Deputy Katie Stange. View the complete list of scheduled dates included below.
