Audubon County Memorial Hospital Foundation hosted the 27th annual golf tournament, receiving overwhelming support from the community. The tournament was originally scheduled for Friday, July 25 as a single day event. The foundation quickly had 28 teams sign up for the four person-best ball tournament, finding the need to add Thursday, July 24 to accommodate all supports wishing to participate. Along with several businesses and sponsors support, the foundation received over $10,000 in prizes for raffle items, the new putting challenge and more. Foundation Director Bliss Weitl says she is amazed and is filled with gratitude for all the support saying “My whole heart goes out to everyone that helped me. The support that they have shown is truly outstanding. I thank the community for stepping up and supporting us with sponsorships and prizes and to all the golfers that attended as well. We had a lot of fun and I cannot wait for next year. Hopefully, we will have the same great turnout.” Money raised from this year’s tournament went to purchasing two High Velocity Therapy (HVT) systems, which aids patients with serious respiratory conditions for breathing support that is administered with heated, high flow oxygen through tubing that is inserted through the nose rather than a mask.
