A Sac City woman sustained fatal injuries in a single vehicle accident late Thursday evening. At approximately 10:49 p.m., authorities responded to a crash around the intersection of Perkins Avenue/M68 and 340th Street south of Lake View by Arrowhead Lake. Law enforcement discovered a 2018 Chevy Equinox, operated by 27-year-old Samantha Nissen left the roadway entering the ditch and struck a tree. Nissen was pronounced dead at the scene. Initial investigation shows there was no sudden braking or changing of directions before the crash occurred. The crash does remain under investigation by the Sac County Sheriff’s Office. The Lake View Police Department assisted the Sheriff’s Office at the scene. This is the second fatal accident to occur in Sac County in a 24-hour period.
