Fuel prices dipped slightly lower in this week’s report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, Aug. 21, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in the state was $2.89, three cents lower than last week’s price and 31 cents below prices from a year ago. The national average on Wednesday stood at $3.13 per gallon, down three cents on the week. As for retail diesel, Iowa prices averaged $3.51 per gallon, a drop of three cents and one cent below last year. Iowa prices remain 19 cents lower than the $3.70 national average. Looking at renewables at the Des Moines Terminal, E10 was $1.97, Unleaded 87 was $2.26, ULSD #2 was $2.37, ULSD #1 was $2.68, and E70 was $1.91. Natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site slid six cents to $2.76 per MMBtu.
