City Of Carroll Plans Mosquito Spraying For Thursday, Aug. 21

The City of Carroll will conduct its next round of mosquito spraying on Thursday, Aug. 21, beginning in the early evening and continuing until the entire city is covered, weather permitting. The effort is part of the city’s ongoing summer initiative to reduce mosquito populations and protect public health. Spraying will begin as mosquitoes become more active around dusk, when weather conditions are generally most favorable, and continue until the entire community has been covered. City officials advise residents, particularly those with respiratory sensitivities, to take precautions during the spraying period, such as staying indoors and keeping windows and doors closed to minimize exposure. Those who are outside when spraying occurs should avoid direct contact with the mist. The mosquito control product being used is approved for residential areas and poses minimal risk to people and pets when applied as directed. However, limiting outdoor exposure during and immediately after spraying is still recommended. For updates or questions, residents may contact Carroll City Hall at 712-792-1000.
