IKM-Manning Celebrates New Gym Completion, Full Staff Roster, And Big Plans For Potentially Building Updates This Upcoming School Year

The IKM-Manning Community School District (CSD) is looking forward to a great 2025-26 school year, with big plans in the works for the campus to be determined by the election ballot this year. Superintendent Dr. Angela Huseman says this is her second year being a shared administrative position with IKM-Manning and Tri-Center CSD, and she has made a goal for herself to continue building meaningful connections this year in Manning.

Huseman says the district is fully staffed and already welcomed new teachers to the building last week. All staff returned today (Monday) to have a four-day in-service week before bringing students back for the first day on Aug. 25.

The only large change that students will have to be aware about this year Huseman says regards cell phones and other personal devices.

Aside from the new gym being completed, carpeting in a lot of classrooms and additional outlets placed throughout the building were the bigger projects completed over the summer. Huseman says the district is looking to seek approval from the voters for a general obligation (GO) bond in regards to some larger projects in the next year or so.

That vote will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 4. An open house is scheduled to welcome students back and get familiar with the building again. Open house for the Irwin building will be this Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. with the Manning campus on Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Huseman looks forward to next week with that first day of school, and continuing to grow the connections with the students, staff, and the IKM-Manning community.
