Teachers return to the building next week as the Audubon Community School District gets ready for the 2025-26 school year. New teachers will report to the buildings on Monday, Aug. 18 with all staff returning Aug. 19 to give them a full week to prep before students return for the first day of school on Aug. 25. Superintendent Trevor Miller says the district is still looking to hire for certified positions but has a plan in place to cover the classes until the spot is filled.
Miller says students should be prepared for the no cellphone policy as the district had restrictions of personal devices established prior to the state legislation.
This upcoming year will be the first that the district can utilize the newly constructed bus barn throughout the entire course of the school session. Miller says other than that, no significant projects were completed over the summer.
An open house for the Audubon Community School District will be on Thursday, Aug. 21 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Elementary building and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. for the middle and high school. Miller says he hopes everyone enjoyed their summer vacation but looks forward to seeing everyone again on Monday, Aug. 25.
If any parent still needs assistance with registering their child for school, staff members are available now through the 25th, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
