Sac County Conservation staff invite children and their families to try their hand at making handmade crayons tomorrow (Saturday) to raise money for future program materials. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, participants will gather in the Sac County Conservation Center at Hagge Park to craft take-home drawing tools at a cost of $2 for a single crayon, $5 for three crayons, and $12 for 10 crayons. Proceeds from the event will be used to purchase new drawing materials for later events. Saturday’s forecast is sunny and hot, with highs near 95°F, which conservation staff say provides an excellent opportunity for a self-guided hike through Hagge Park after the program.
