Iowa Fuel Report: Aug. 13, 2025

Gas prices in Iowa were down, while diesel prices held steady in this week’s report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in the state was $2.92, down four cents from last week’s price and 34 cents below prices from a year ago. The national average for gasoline on Wednesday dropped one cent on the week to $3.16 per gallon. Iowa retail diesel prices were unchanged at $3.56 per gallon, compared to $3.48 per gallon this time last year. Iowa prices are 16 cents below the current $3.72 national average. As for renewable fuels at the Des Moines Terminal, E10 was $1.96, Unleaded 87 was $2.26, ULSD#2 was $2.35, ULSD#1 was $2.68, and E70 was $1.91. Natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site were down 22 cents to $2.28 per MMBtu.
