The Coon Rapids-Bayard (CR-B) Community School District will be getting the 2025-26 school year started in less than two weeks. Superintendent Tom Ridder says while the district is still looking for one teacher to fill the roster, the administration team is staying the same as the previous year.
Various projects around the CR-B building include a ventilation system in the shop for Industrial Tech classes, carpeting, painting, and finishing the restrooms down at the Athletic Field. The largest project was the complete remodel of the Family Consumer-Science’s room with all new cabinets, appliances and more for the kitchen and classrooms.
One big adjustment that students will have to get used to will be the no-cell phone policy that is required to be in place from legislation passed from Gov. Kim Reynolds.
New teachers report back to the CR-B building for orientation on Tuesday, Aug. 19, with all staff returning Aug. 20. An open house is scheduled on Thursday, Aug. 22 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and the first day of school starting on Monday, Aug. 25. Ridder says he looks forward to everyone coming back to CR-B and knows that it is going to be a great year.
