St. Anthony Regional Hospital Earns National Recognition for Cardiovascular, Stroke Care

St. Anthony Regional Hospital recently received five national awards from the American Heart Association for its commitment to cardiovascular care and ongoing efforts to improve survival rates following cardiac arrest. The hospital was honored with the American Heart Association’s “Get With The Guidelines” achievement awards, which recognize hospitals that follow evidence-based practices in treating stroke and resuscitation. These best practices help reduce recovery times, prevent re-admissions, and save lives. St. Anthony Vice President of Patient Services Sara Gonnerman says, “St. Anthony is committed to improving care by adhering to the latest treatment and resuscitation guidelines and streamlining processes to ensure timely and proper care for heart attacks and strokes. Get With The Guidelines programs make it easier for our teams to put proven knowledge and guidelines to work on a daily basis, which helps us ensure more people in our communities experience longer, healthier lives.” St. Anthony received awards in the Rural Stroke, Acute Stroke Care, Resuscitation—Adult, Resuscitation—Target, and Resuscitation—CPR categories. Each year, about 300,000 people experience in-hospital cardiac arrest nationwide. High-quality, timely CPR plays a crucial role in determining survival outcomes, and St. Anthony’s recognition underscores its commitment to lifesaving care.
