Iowa Fuel Report: Aug. 6, 2025

Fuel prices crept higher in this week’s fuel report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, Aug. 6, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in the state was $2.96, up four cents from last week’s price but still 29 cents below prices from a year ago. The national average on Wednesday climbed three cents on the week to $3.17 per gallon. As for Iowa retail diesel, the state’s average was up one cent to $3.51 per gallon, five cents above 2024’s prices. Local diesel prices held 18 cents below the $3.74 national average. In renewables at the Des Moines Terminal, E10 was at $2.00, Unleaded 87 was $2.32, ULSD #2 was $2.41, ULSD #1 was $2.68, and E70 was at $1.91 per gallon. Looking at heating fuels, natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site were up two cents to $3.04 per MMBtu.
