U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) says renewable energy production in Iowa is still a good investment for companies, despite last month’s cuts to energy tax credits in the One Big Beautiful Bill. Grassley, who has championed wind energy in the state for more than three decades, opposed the tax credit reductions in the legislation, but he notes that doesn’t mean the incentives are entirely gone.
U.S. energy demands over the next decade are forecasted to increase dramatically due to a variety of factors, and Grassley says we need to be aggressive on all production fronts to meet these demands.
Ramping up energy production takes time, and Grassley suggests that expansion in traditional energy production methods was hampered by the Biden Administration. To Grassley, a healthy energy policy encompasses all production methods, from renewable sources like solar, wind, and biofuels to traditional avenues such as coal, natural gas, and oil. Grassley made his comments Tuesday during his weekly Capitol Hill Report with Iowa reporters.
