CCSD Welcomes New Administration, Transportation Changes And More For Upcoming School Year

The first day of school for the Carroll Community School District (CCSD) is three weeks away, and students and parents can expect some changes as the 2025-26 school year approaches. Superintendent Dr. Casey Berlau says the district is welcoming three new administrative staff: Ryan Simmelink for Fairview Elementary Principal, Dean Lansman for Carroll Middle Principal, and Joe Blazevich as the Carroll High School Principal for the upcoming year.

Summer is always a great break for students, but a vacant building is a prime opportunity for the custodial team to complete various projects around the building. Berlau notes that some paint, carpet, and new furniture can be seen at Carroll Middle School, but the largest project involves the new transportation facility, which is scheduled to open around October, along with roofing and other improvements.

Berlau says the biggest changes that students and parents can expect are the start and end times for each building and the new transportation policy. Fairview and Adams Elementary will have classes from 8:10 a.m. to 3:25 p.m., Carroll Middle School will have classes from 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., and the high school will have classes from 8:05 a.m. to 3:10 p.m. Berlau says the district will also be reducing the number of students they transport due to a shortage of drivers. A shuttle system will be used between the six buildings from 7:15 a.m. to 8:10 a.m. before school and from 3:10 p.m. to 4:10 p.m. after school. Berlau encourages all with questions to please call his office or the transportation department for more clarification.

New teachers report to the buildings on Aug. 15, with all staff members returning on Aug. 19. Open house will be at all buildings on Aug. 20 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., which will be a great opportunity for students to meet their teacher, drop off supplies, and for parents to review handbook policies. Berlau says the first day of school will be on Monday, Aug. 25, and he is excited to welcome the staff and students back into the buildings for the 2025-26 school year.
