The Carroll Public Library is thrilled to announce that the Summer Reading Checkout Challenge goal of 26,000 has been surpassed. From June 9th to Aug. 2, a total of 27,105 items were checked out over the course of eight weeks. Along the way, special prizes were earned, including library stickers, bookmarks, and library swag, all the way to the ultimate goal of playing “Pie in the Face” with kids who participated in the summer reading program and the checkout challenge. In the year prior, community “celebrities” were the victims of the cream to the face, but kids wanted to participate in the fun. The game will be played at the Summer Reading Finale Party, which will be this upcoming Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
