Nick Nurse Foundation Golf & Musical Festival Kicks Off Wednesday At Carroll National

The Carroll National Golf Club will be a hive of activity this week as the Nick Nurse Foundation hosts its second annual Golf & Music Festival. Nurse, a Carroll native and current Philadelphia 76ers head coach, launched the non-profit to expand access to sports, music, and education. He and his staff hosted a shooting camp today (Tuesday) for athletes in Carroll, which was very well attended. He says the focus shifts on Wednesday to the musical side.

The Nick Nurse Foundation’s Golf & Music Festival really kicks off Thursday with the tournament earlier in the day. Nurse says a popular indie rock band, Mt. Joy, will be the headliners for the evening’s entertainment, and they plan to recreate Fleetwood Mac’s 1979 “Tusk” music video with help from the Carroll and Kuemper Catholic marching bands.

Both music programs were also recent recipients of a significant donation from the Nick Nurse Foundation. The foundation also helped reinstate the music program for clients at New Hope and assisted with the installation of outdoor instruments at Kellan’s Kingdom in Carroll. Nurse says Friday’s headliners are two of the most iconic bands of the 20th century: The Jacksons and Jefferson Starship.

Tickets for the event are still available and can be purchased online at carrollnational.golf, found below.
