The Glidden City Council approved all five business grants requests for the city’s first Façade Improvement and Building Remediation Grant program during the last city council meeting. The council allocated $20,000 to award four businesses a maximum grant funding of $5,000 to be utilized for improvements projects such as paint, masonry, signage, windows and more as approved by city council. During the meeting, the members approved to contribute an additional $500 to award all five businesses that applied with their requested funding. Grants were awarded to Highway 30 Health, Downtown Lounge, Whitver Equipment, Dairy Mart, and Vitalistic Health Spa. Businesses eligible for the grant must be private, for-profit brick-and mortar businesses within Glidden’s city limits and able to provide a 25 percent match for the total project cost. Funding is provided on a reimbursement basis with projects needing to be completed with copies of paid invoices submitted before June 30, 2026.
