Carroll Public Library Summer Reading Program Is Wrapping Up

Summer is coming to an end and the Carroll Public Library staff wants to remind patrons to get books logged as the Summer Reading Program ends this week. Library Director Wendy Johnson says it’s hard to believe August is here meaning it is getting close to wrap up the summer activities.

Johnson says every week there was something fun to keep kids and even adults entertained, with the Tuesday morning REC Center shows being the crowd favorites.

Johnson encourages all to keep reading and get the books logged into the Beanstack app for the prize bag, lawn sign and entered to win one of over 100 prizes. She also gave an update on this year’s checkout challenge.

The checkout challenge is for anything physical such as movies, puzzles, the take-home bags and e-books checked out through the Libby app. The checkout challenge also ends on this upcoming Saturday. Johnson says the summer reading program will conclude with the party on Saturday Aug. 9 at the library from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Johnson says that just because summer reading is just about over, doesn’t mean that there is nothing going on at the library.

A schedule of August programs and activities can be found on the Carroll Public Library’s website, Facebook page or physical copies can be picked up at the library. Johnson wants to thank all the sponsors who contributed to making this summer reading program a success and for all the participants joining in on the challenges and fun that was shared.
