Carroll Fire Departments Recieved Carter Kits To Help Calm Children With Autism

Carroll County Public Health donates Carter Kits to all Carroll County fire departments to aid in assisting children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Carter Kit Sensory bags contain objects that are clinically approved to comfort and calm children who are diagnosed with ASD, such as sunglasses, noise-cancelling ear muffs, a weighted blanket, and sensory toys. Carter KitsTM is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that assist emergency services across the United States, Canada, Bermuda and the Bahamas receive over 20,000 kits to date to provide comfort to children that may be overwhelmed and impacted by various traumatic events. The Manning, Lidderdale, Carroll, Halbur, Ralston, Templeton and Coon Rapids Fire Departments all received the kits last week and will be available for service members to use during emergency calls.
