The City of Lake City in continuing its efforts of beautification for the community by holding its annual Lake City Clean-Up Day this Saturday. From 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., residents of Lake City will have the opportunity to bring unwanted items to the water plant for proper disposal. Items accepted include tires from cars all the way up to tractor tires for fees between $8 to $50 per tire, rims must be off or an additional $10 fee will be included, old appliances such as stoves, microwaves, etc., for $20 per item and tv and computer monitors for $15 per screen. At this time, trash, yard waste, construction debris and any toxic or hazardous materials will not be accepted for disposal. Volunteers are being requested to assist with unloading and sorting out of items being dropped off. If interested in volunteering, individuals are asked to meet at the water plant at 120 Washington Street by 8 a.m. Saturday. Donations are very much appreciated to assist offsetting the costs for hauling and landfill fees. Again, residents of Lake City are asked to keep the community free of unwanted clutter by disposing unwanted items at this year’s Lake City Clean-Up Day this Saturday.
