Residents Around Hamlin In Audubon County Placed In Boil Advisory Until Further Notice

Residents in and around the City of Hamlin in Audubon County have been placed in a boil advisory until further notice due to lack of pressure in the area from Regional Water Rural Water Association (RWRWA). It was Sunday when RWRWA received a phone call from a customer residing along Highway 44 west of Hamlin that they had low water pressure. Crews were dispatched but due to a fiber cable in the area, additional workers from the fiber company had to be dispatched out. Due to loss in pressure from the leak, residents in the area are required to boil water if planned to be used for consumption for two days until bacteria testing comes back negative. This outage is affecting 64 RWRWA customers in Audubon County residing on and east of Ibis Avenue, along Highway 44 between Ibis and Lark Avenues, 235th Avenue, 225th Lane, Jay Avenue, 250th Avenue, and individuals living in Hamlin. Until testing rules out any contamination, residents must boil water for at least one minute or use bottled water as an alternative. Individuals with questions are asked to contact RWRWA Office by calling 712-343-2413.
