The 72nd Annual Black Hawk Lake Summer Water Carnival Goes Western This Weekend

The Black Hawk Lake Summer Water Carnival begins tomorrow (Friday), with a weekend full of games, music and more in Lake View. In it’s 72nd year, the carnival has been a popular event for the community for quite some time and continues to entertain residents and visitors with a packed full schedule. Water Carnival Committee President, Ally Leners, says this year’s theme is “Cowboy Up For Carnival”.

The carnival kicks off Friday with the East Sac County Alumni Banquet and Reunion at the Lake View Community Center, followed with the midway, kiddie parade at 7 p.m., kids’ readers theatre on the Stone Pier Stage and live music until midnight with fireworks at 10 p.m. Leners says Saturday is the busiest day of the weekend.

Sunday’s events include church service at 9:30 a.m. at the West Stone Pier, along with mud volleyball, art in the park and more before what Leners says is the grand finale of the carnival.

Raffle tickets can be found under the Lake View Community Club tent for the cash drawing. Tickets for carnival rides can also be purchased for a discounted price until Saturday at noon at several local businesses throughout the Lake View Community, or at regular price at the midway. Leners says she hopes everyone will come kick it up at the western themed water carnival.

Leners also wishes to thank all the volunteers to step up to make food, work a shift or help out in any way as it could not be possible without their help. Again, the Black Hawk Lake Summer Water Carnival is this Friday through Sunday at Black Hawk Lake in Lake View.
