Movement in the state’s fuel market was muted in this week’s report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, July 16, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was $2.93, unchanged from last week and 36 cents below prices from a year ago. The national average on Wednesday held steady at $3.16 per gallon. In Iowa, the average retail diesel price increased by one cent to $3.53 per gallon, compared to $ 3.52 at this time last year. Local prices are 20 cents lower than the national average of $3.73 for diesel. As for renewables at the Des Moines Terminal, E10 was priced at $2.00, Unleaded 87 at $2.34, ULSD #2 at $2.48, ULSD #1 at $2.73, and E70 at $1.94. Natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site jumped 37 cents to $3.53 per MMBtu.
