One Fatality And Multiple Injuries Reported In Car Versus Semi Accident Monday Morning In Buena Vista County

One death and multiple injuries were reported in a 2-vehicle accident that involved a semi tractor-trailer on Highway M27 in Buena Vista County Monday morning. According to a report by the Iowa State Patrol, a 2020 Subaru Outback, driven by 37-year-old Nicholas Seaburg of Popejoy was traveling northbound on Highway M27 and was attempting to make a left hand turn into a parking lot. Seaburg failed to yield to oncoming traffic and was hit by a 2006 International semi tractor-trailer, operated by 69-year-old Marlon Klein of Sheldon. The passenger of the Seaburg vehicle, 42-year-old Coree Keller of Popejoy was ejected from the car and died at the scene. Three juveniles, ages 11, 7, and 5, were all injured in the crash, one taken by Storm Lake Ambulance to Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake, while the other two were transported by air ambulance to Sanford Children’s Hospital in Sioux Falls. Klein remained uninjured in the crash.
