Crawford County Fair Celebrating 79 Years This Week In Dension

It’s fair week for Crawford County as they celebrate the 79th annual Crawford County Fair this Wednesday through Sunday. Some activities have already begun, such as the crowning of the Fair Queen which occurred last night (Monday), to Kennedy Eischeid. Crawford County Fair Board President Amy Mendenhall says today (Tuesday) the open class entries will be judged, with the gates opening to the public on Wednesday for 4-H and FFA livestock shows, the flag-raising ceremony, a veteran’s lunch, and more.

Thursday kicks off with more 4-H and FFA shows, Senior Citizen Day in the Farm Bureau Building, leading up to what Mendenhall says will be fun for the entire family.

Friday will highlight 4H and FFA swine shows, hay throwing contest, mutton busting, and the Wright Rodeo in the grandstand. Saturday will have the Little Cutie baby contest at 11 a.m., a cornhole tournament, a Bacon Buddies show, and the second Bill Riley Talent Show. Mendenhall says other entertainment will include inflatables, a petting zoo, bingo, and a beer garden for adults 21 and over. She says most of the entertainment at the fair is available at no cost to participate in or enjoy.

Mendenhall says crews are finishing up one new addition to the fairgrounds that will surely make everyone happy.

The complete schedule of events can be found included with this story on our website. Mendenhall wishes to thank all the volunteers, the fair board, and everyone else who has stepped up to help make this year’s fair a success. She invites everyone to come out and looks forward to seeing you all at the 79th Crawford County Fair this Wednesday through Sunday.
