The Audubon County Historical Society’s Exira Museum is the recent recipient of the 100+ Women Who Care of Audubon County’s quarterly donations. The museum, located on the corner of E. Washington Street and Kilworth Street in Exira used to be the first courthouse in Audubon County. It was converted into a museum which is maintained by the Historical Society, with articles, information, and artifacts of Audubon County throughout the decades. The historical society plans to utilize the money from the 100+ Women Who Care to help cover costs of projects in the museum, such as adding electrical outlets and wiring to the upstairs, a new vertical display for the “Flood of ‘58”, mannequins to dress in early military uniforms, security cameras, large historical prints of Audubon County and more. The Audubon County Historical Society extends its appreciation to the 100+ Women Who Care for the donations, as well as for past and future support.
