Carroll will play host to nearly 1,000 swimmers and their families this weekend for the 2025 Iowa West Conference Championships at the Carroll Aquatic Center. Cara Vogl with the Carroll Summer Swim Parents Club says Saturday’s event will feature swimmers from all across the region.
Saturday’s championships get underway at 11 a.m. and are expected to wrap up by 4 p.m. that afternoon, barring any potential weather delays. Vogl says swimmers are split into categories based on age and swim stroke.
In addition to highlighting the young athletes, Vogl says it’s a great opportunity to showcase Carroll.
The Carroll Summer Swim Parents Club requests people avoid parking on 11th Street to the north of the aquatic center to facilitate traffic. Parking will be available near Merchants Park to the south, and golf carts shuttles will be available. The Carroll Aquatic Center will close at 5 p.m. on Friday to allow volunteers time to set up for the conference championships, and the facility will be closed all day on Saturday. Vogl is joined on the Parents Club Board in helping to organize the event by Jessi Klocke, Kerri Osterlund, Andrea Gach, and Alicia Carter.
