The area’s largest Fourth of July celebration, hosted by the Breda American Legion in Memorial Park, is scheduled for July 5 this year, but the event not falling on the holiday won’t slow the party down one bit. Kevin Stork, one of the Breda Legion’s many members, says it is always a lot of work to get things ready, but they look forward to it every summer.
Stork says the celebration gets rolling at 5 p.m. Saturday.
He adds they are excited to welcome back Aftershock to provide the live music for the Breda Celebration.
The fireworks display, which is considered by many to be one of the best in the region, is set to get underway at 10:15 p.m. on Saturday night. The Breda Independence Day Celebration also marks the beginning of the Legion’s annual gun raffle/calendar fundraiser, and they will be available for purchase during the event.
