Glidden City Council Approved Increase To Sewer Rates Effective This Billing Cycle

Glidden residents can expect to see a slight increase in sewer bills starting this month, as the city council has officially adopted the rate increase. During the last city council meeting, members approved an ordinance that raises the base rate for sewer to $14.67 per month, with a consumption charge of $14.27 per 1,000 gallons. City Administrator Brooke Peterson says residents can expect gradual rate increases over the next few years.

With one large financial project completed and another one scheduled to take place, Peterson says this was the main reason behind reviewing and auditing the utilities.

Peterson says slip lining will consist of placing a lining in the city’s sewer mains to promote the longevity of the lines.

Residents with questions are encouraged to call Peterson down at City Hall at 712-659-3010.
