Gov. Kim Reynolds announced today (Monday) the appointment of a West Des Moines attorney to serve as a district judge in Iowa Judicial District 5A. Nicholas Bailey is the owner of Bailey Law Firm in Altoona, where he has practiced for the last 15 years. Bailey earned his undergraduate degree in history from Yale University and his law degree from Drake University Law School in 2009. Bailey will fill a vacancy created in District 5A by the retirement of Judge Terry Rickers. Judicial District 5A covers six central Iowa counties, including Guthrie and Dallas.
