MRHC Welcomes Speech Therapist Alex Blankman To Care Team

Manning Regional Healthcare Center (MRHC) has announced the addition of a new member to their speech therapy team, Alex Blankman, M.A., CCC-SLP. Blankman brings experience working with patients of all ages to address speech, language, voice, swallowing, and cognitive disorders. She emphasizes evidence-based techniques and individualized care to help patients meet their communication goals. Blankman says, “I knew I wanted to work in a helping profession, but I was torn between education and healthcare. Speech therapy was the perfect mix of both. Joining MRHC allows me to be close to home and help people in my community. MRHC is a great facility, and I have felt very welcomed and supported by all the staff.” Blankman earned her bachelor’s degree in linguistics from Iowa State University and a master’s in speech-language pathology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Before joining MRHC, Blankman previously served patients for six years through the Northwest Area Education Agency. Common signs someone may benefit from speech therapy include unintelligible speech, developmental delays, stuttering, trouble answering questions, or choking while eating.
