A Rippey woman suffers fatal injuries from a riding lawnmower accident Thursday afternoon. According to Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams, the department was dispatched at approximately 3:30 p.m. to the 2100 block of W Avenue after Heather Lansman rolled a riding lawnmower down into a creek after the embankment gave away. The mower rolled on top of Lansman, trapping her into the creek. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Lansman is the wife of the new Carroll Middle School Principal, Dean Lansman. The Grand Junction Fire and Rescue and the Greene County Ambulance also assisted at the scene.
