An open house is scheduled for tomorrow (Thursday) to view the newly transformed East Sac County (ESC) Middle School building into apartments. Multiple organizations, including: the City of Sac City, ESC Community School District, Sac County Economic and Tourism Development and the Sac Development Corporation, partnered together to address the housing demand that was identified in a 2020 Housing Needs Assessment. Developer Ryan Heugerich (He-grich) of HCI, was awarded Workforce Housing Tax Credits for the Sac Fox Flats, along with the city utilizing Tax Increment Financing (TIF) dollars to make the vacant school building into 38, one-to-three-bedroom apartments. The open house with Ma’uana Management is tomorrow (Thursday) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m at 300 S. 11th Street, Sac City. Attendees will be able to tour the building, ask questions, and fill out an application for approval. HCI will also be construction four and fiveplexes, which will create another 18 units in the same location as the Sac Fox Flats.
