Iowa gubernatorial candidate Rob Sand has announced a 100-town hall tour across the state through the summer and into the fall as part of his bid to become Iowa’s next governor. The statewide journey begins on June 25, but Sand’s campaign won’t reach the immediate listening area until August. On Tuesday, Aug. 19, he will be hosting public meetings in Audubon County at 1 p.m., Guthrie County at 3 p.m., Calhoun County at 5:30 p.m., and Greene County at 7:45 p.m. Locations for these meetings will be announced closer to the events. Sand returns to the area on Wednesday, Sept. 10, with a town hall in Sac County at 9 a.m., Crawford County at 4:15 p.m., and Carroll County at 6:15 p.m. Sand says, “As elected officials, it’s our job to show up and listen everywhere and to every Iowan. That’s what I’ve done every year since taking office as State Auditor, and it’s exactly what I plan on doing throughout this tour. Too many of our elected officials have left Iowa families behind to instead serve powerful insiders or their donors. I will go anywhere and talk to anyone because I believe we have to bring all Iowans together to solve some of our toughest challenges. I look forward to sharing my vision with Iowans and hearing from them directly throughout this tour.” Sand is the current front-runner for the Democrat Party’s nomination for governor in the 2026 primaries. Other candidates seeking the party’s nomination include Julie Stauch, Sondra Wilson, and Paul Dahl. Republicans to announce their candidacy include 4th District U.S. Representative Randy Feenstra, former State Rep. Brad Sherman, and current State Rep. Eddie Andrews.
