CCSD Board Of Education Review Policies, Handbook Revisions And Agreement Renewals For 2025-26 School Year At Upcoming Meeting

The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education is scheduled to meet tomorrow (Thursday) evening for the June board meeting. The meeting will begin at its regular scheduled time of 6:30 p.m. in the Adams Elementary Board room. Most of the items on the agenda will be to review policies, agreements, and revisions to handbooks to get ready for the 2025-26 school year. Vice president of the Board of Education Duane Horsley says one of the renewals will be to appoint the Carroll Police Department as a Level II Investigator.

Agreements for CCSD include Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) for a credit recovery program for students needing additional help to achieve credits to meet graduation standards, 28E agreement with Manson Northwest Webster CSD for THRIVE Academy for students needed extra support for challenging behaviors and emotional needs, Buena Vista University (BVU) for student teaching and more. Horsley says there is revisions for student handbooks from the elementary school up to the high school that will be reviewed and considered.

The board members will also consider approving multiple facility projects to get completed over the course of the summer. Those include a fence project at Fairview Elementary, parking lot maintenance at Adams Elementary, and a change order for the transportation facility.

If the change order is approved, the contractor will send the project out for bid which will occur an additional cost for the facility project. The remaining items on the agenda are from the business office which focus on storm protection funds, bids for fuel, budget reports and renewal for property and casualty insurance.

Again, the CCSD Board of Education meeting will be tomorrow (Thursday) night at 6:30 p.m. in the Adams Elementary Board room. The meeting is open to the public.
