The City of Wall Lake is replacing the airport hangar located south of town for the opportunity to welcome new businesses or expand existing ones in the community. City Clerk Chris Rodman says city council has been discussing the hangar at meetings for quite some time now and says the only way they would be able to sell portions of land for new buildings was if the city had some readily available.
Rodman says dirt work started earlier this month to accommodate roughly seven acres of future commercial zones. By not developing the lots right away, he says it leaves the door wide open for any potential businesses to build.
