REMINDER: U.S. 30 Closure At Boone/Greene County Line To Begin June 16

A substantial road closure is set to begin next week on U.S. Highway 30 near Ogden. According to the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT), the highway between the Greene/Boone county line east to Ogden will be closed through Aug. 15, weather permitting, for a concrete overlay and safety improvements. The closure will also impact U.S. Highway 169 in the area. During the construction, traffic will be detoured via U.S. 169, Iowa Highway 144, and Boone/Greene County Road E-26. As part of the project, the west junction of U.S. 30 and U.S. 169 will be reconstructed. Plans include adding an eastbound left-turn lane from U.S. 30 to northbound U.S. 169 and expanding the westbound right-turn lane from U.S. 30 to U.S. 169. The Iowa DOT urges drivers to use caution in work zones, obey posted speed limits, and stay alert. Fines for moving violations are doubled in construction areas. Drivers are reminded to wear their seatbelts and maintain a safe distance between vehicles while the project is underway.
