The IKM-Manning Fine Arts Boosters are celebrating a remarkable year for students as they earned top honors in music, color guard, speech, and visual arts throughout the 2024-25 school year. The marching band claimed first place in Class 1A at STARFEST and the Dutchmen Field Championships, also earning Iowa’s highest 1A score at the state large group contest. Jazz and concert bands earned top finishes, and the color guard placed second at the Iowa State Dance Team Association Championships, with four soloists ranking in the state’s top 10. Choir students received straight Division I ratings at state, and speech participants excelled at both group and individual contests. Highlights include All-State selections and a statewide banner win for the TV news entry “Mystery of the Enigma.” In visual arts, more than 20 students were honored at regional competitions. Fine Arts Booster Club President Shelly Greving says, “From flutes to flags and from scripts to solos, our students are excelling at every level, and it’s thanks in large part to the support of our community,” Looking ahead to 2025-26, the IKM-Manning Fine Arts Boosters aim to raise $25,000 to support future projects, including the addition of a pug mill for the high school art program, a spotlight for the auditorium, a trophy case for student achievements, and much more.
