Gowrie Man Waives Jury Trial Next Month For Murder Of Farnhamville Teen

A Gowrie man has waived his jury trial scheduled next month and faces prosecution from a judge in a bench trial for the murder of a teen from Farnhamville last year. According to Calhoun County District Court records, 21-year-old Nathaniel Kyren Bevers-McGivney is being charged with first-degree murder, a class A felony, and abuse of a corpse, hide or bury, a class C felony, after allegedly murdering 17-year-old Michele “Luna” Jackson and moving the body in an attempt to conceal the crime. During a hearing held today (Friday) Bevers-McGivney waived his right to a jury trial, and a bench trial is scheduled for July 8 at the Calhoun County Courthouse. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole across both charges.
